About once a month I open up my house and invite all my customers and friends to come do a little shopping in my living room. That day was today-I knew we'd be hanging around the house all day (yay!) and I knew we'd have a revolving door of MJC fans in and out so I dolled Addison up in something comfy and something that I anticipated would get the seal of approval from diehard Matilda Jane fanatics. The result is this...

All of this is from Matilda Jane's Gypsy Blue line-the pink long sleeve shirt is the blushing button tee layered with the sara baby doll top and little cocoa big ruffles. Of course at 9am this morning a headband completed this outfit but that was lost many hours ago.

We had a very 'fancy' art show to attend tonight at ye olde elementary school so I decided it was a perfect occasion to pull out our new Crewcuts (J.Crew's kid sister)

If I had a spoon in my purse I surely would have eaten her up. She was delicious.

The cardi, ballet slipper shirt and larger then life headband are all from Crewcuts If you haven't stopped by to check out the deliciousness there you really must-you'll be a changed person.

The skirt oddly enough is from Gaps Deauville line and I am really proud of my little ensemble here. Minus the purse which was all Addison's doing.

I put this outfit together in my head at the Trunk Keeper conference. I could hear it crying as I had to leave it behind so it's no surprise that this very outfit was the first one I ordered when Gypsy Blue launched.

Not only do I love this now but I think I will love it even more come valentine's day because it might just be perfect for V'day.

I had a show recently and usually Addison doesn't get to come to shows with me because quite frankly she's crazy and I can't trust her in someone else's house while I'm working, but she got to come with me to the other day because it was a friend of mine and it was at a preschool. If Addison wanted to break a toy or even pee in her pants it would be totally normal in that environment. I put her in this very outfit and the gushing began.

I sold at least one of these sets, if not two. Thank you very much Addison-your job here is done.

I probably shouldn't have sized up on this dress because it looks too big to me but eh whatever. I'll shove it in the back of the closet now and next spring when I'm doing the big closet purge I'll find it and it will feel brand new again.

From Gymbo's Super star line.

Not enjoying Addison's new found camera smile.

This is our comfy go-to outfit lately. Addison has worn it a handful of times already and we've probably only had it for a month or so....that says ALOT.

Both pieces are from Matilda Janes Gypsy Blue (1) collection-stiped straightees and the cocoa button tee.

When I found myself buying m2m bows for this line I knew that it was a good one. I was 'that' woman at Gymboree making pile upon pile on the counter and trying to get the most outfits for the least amount of money. I ended up with an embarrassing amount of clothes and the lady in front of me in line even had the audacity to ask me how many kids I had based on the armful of clothes I had. I should have told her I was Michelle Duggar's assistant but instead I just said 'Just shopping for one spoiled girl' *insert nervous laughter here*

From my arch-Nemesis Gymboree's SUPER STAR line.

I love lap dresses. They could be puke green or mustard yellow and I would buy it.

I love ruffles. They could be puke green and mustard yellow stripes and I would buy it.

Put the lap dress and ruffles together and there is nothing better in my book.. Addison is happy because they are comfy (and pink most importantly) I am happy because she matches and is delicious, (and not screaming about her clothes most importantly)

From Matilda Jane's Gypsy Blue line-pinkie lap dress & PR big ruffles

OH and bee-tee-double-you-those are a size 4 on mah girl, who normally wears a 3 in gap and gymbo stuff. People always ask me about MJC sizing so there you go.

Go figure. We had to make a detour today down to our boat dock and of course the sun is shining, Addison is in a happy mood, she's in a cute dress, the scenery is great and what vital piece of the puzzle am I missing? My blasted camera. So it was with a big sigh that I resorted to the iphone for my photographic needs.

Obviously the pictures don't do this dress justice. From Matilda Jane's Gypsy blue 2 line this is the Maggie dress with MJC Neapolitan tights.

I &hearts faces

I've been watching other bloggers do the I Heart Faces photo challenge for a long time and I finally decided I wanted to join in the fun and hopefully challenge myself down the road to learn more about my camera.

This weeks theme is Balloons and I knew I had the perfect picture from Addison's first birthday. I remember when this picture was taken the room was crowded and busy and she looked like she was trying to get a quiet minute to herself.

Head on over to I ♥ faces to see more great pictures

Wow, I didn't think I'd get so worked up bringing up an old link. I can't believe how tiny Addison looked just a year ago :(

Tears aside, I obviously loved this shirt so I bought it this year when it came back to the GAP this year. I think I like the old version better with the button eyes Swapped out the tights for these leggings that are actually from GAP's Deauville line, the silver converse's (which I bought from Nordstrom-lots of emails from people asking) went PERFECT, and hide your eyes but a Valentines day skirt from Janie and Jack. I can't believe that at one time Adsy had at least 4 jean skirts and now she's down to one. Damn Economy. Look what you've done to me. Valentines day on Halloween. The shame-what will the neighbors say??

When I went to the Matilda Jane trunk keepers conference this summer I fell in freaking love with the Adult Willow. I found out there that for the second release of Gypsy Blue there was going to be a mini-me size. I have dreamt about this dang coat/jacket/sweater since then. I couldn't wait to wrap my girl up in it. I got my order yesterday and promptly made her wear it. I had no clue what to put with it underneath so I scanned the closet and found this neglected tank from this summer's Matilda Jane art fair that fit the bill.

Willow certainly did not disappoint.

I have some stores that I only shop in seasonally-Janie and Jack is strictly summer, Gap takes up a huge chunk of fall and winter but Naartjie seems to be in rotation throughout the whole year.

I wish I could buy each and every color of this dress because I LURVE it. LURVE. LURVE. LURVE. There is absolutely nothing special about it but when she put it on it was....well.....LURVE.

This is from Naartjie's holiday line the dress is the embroidered lawn knit dress and matching leggings-which actually don't match but they're close enough. The front detailing is so so pretty. I hope you all hate it so nobody buys it and that I can buy it at a deep discount at the end of the season for next year. I swore I had bought the matchy headband too but I got home and there was no headband to be found so I asked Addison 'did you take the headband out of the bag' To which she replies 'I threw it on the floor at the store because it was on my seat' Why I oughta.........

Clearly Addison is happy with the dress too.

Outfit of the day

I think I bought this entire line. Seriously. I know it's a good line when I buy m2m bows for it.

Today my son had a 8am football game. Really??? 8am on a Saturday ROCKS.

Me and Addison had to bundle up so this worked out perfect. Cute and warm. I do believe my sister threw a compliment her way too-if 'she looks fallish' is a compliment then I'll take it as one.

This is from Gap's Chelsea line. Underneath is the tree shirt from this line which Addison call her 'squirrel shirt' because apparently there is a microscopic squirrel on it. Hey better then a lifesize Dora.

Outfit of the day

Alien Green. That's the color this is. That's officially what it's called. Is that supposed to entice me because I was about ready to run.

If I was only an online shopper I'd take one look at this outfit and keep on keepin' on. There isn't anything special about it online.

Of course I'm not an online shopper so when I popped into Naartjie I saw it and knew that it would easily be a staple for Addison. I love yoga sets and she was all geeked up about the dog on the shirt so win win.

Alien green track suit came home with us.

I love you too Addison. Smooches

Outfit of the day

Still on my neverending quest for comfy clothes. This was too cute to pass up at the Gymbo outlet. I loved this line, Sweeter then Chocolate, when it originally hit the stores and now that Adsy has crept into Kid Girl sizes it was like a whole new line for me since there were pieces we had to skip on last time because they were too big.

Please excuse Addison face-she doesn't actually have a flesh eating disease, just a new Hello Kitty stamp (thank you Target dollar section!) that she put all over her dang self.

Coat of the day

I am pretty sure I cussed out the gap when they didn't make this coat in Addison's size. Well up yours Gap because your sizing is wonky and this coat fits Addison perfect! Stickin' it to the man.

Owls+Pink & Brown=LOVE

Outfit of the day

We are big readers in this house. It isn't unusual to find us curled up in my bed each of us with our own book. Reading for pleasure is something I try to instill in my kids. One of Addison's favorite books is Fancy Nancy (Naturally). I was so excited when the Gap's junk food tee's had Fancy Nancy on it. I bought both version's of it.
Addison thinks this shirt is marvelous. Marvelous is a fancy word for great.

oh.my.gee. Please do not click the picture. It was taken after dinner and apparently before I could attack her mouth with a wipe.

Outfit of the day

I really need to get bows made for this line because I'm sure it will come to the outlet next year and this year I have at least.....5 outfits so bows would be essential.

I love the headband that I did the other day with the Deauville outfit but truth be told, Addison was not a fan and took it off every time I wasn't looking at her.

More cute stuff from Gap's Deauville line. The pants aren't from the same line they are the fluffy soft marshmallowy goodness from the gap-I'm sure that's not the official line name but it should be.

Outfit of the day

I have a hundred few quirks when it comes to clothes. Two that stand out are #1. No hearts unless its Valentines day & #2 Bunnies only at Easter. I really hate this shirt seeing as we are about as far away from Easter as we could possibly be. But guess who loves this shirt. I suppose it could be worse. It could be Dora.

Shirt and Skirt are from Naartjie. The bunny shirt is called-ready for this-the Bunny tee, and the skirt is the colored netting skirt. I actually really like the skirt because it's netting on top but the bottom layer is a cotton t-shirt material so it's not 'scratchy'.

Addison got herself some new con's too. Sparkly suckers aren't they.

Outfit of the day

Ok I love each of these pieces separately but I'm not sure that they all work together.

I am frantically trying to piece together this line because I wasn't fast enough to get it all online and apparently my store is not a 'big' store so they aren't getting this collection in. I've had to buy piece by piece from people so it's coming together slowly. Be prepared for a whole lot of black and white lovin'

This is from GAP's Deauville line. Whadda think?? Too much going on or does it work??? Lose the headband? Swap the tights for plain colored ones? Input please. When I got the dress I knew I wanted to pair it with the Uggs so I'm happy with that but I think it might be Deauville overkill with everything else.

Discuss.

Outfit of the day

More panda love from Gymboree's Holiday Panda line. I cannot get enough of this stuff and on the first round of shopping I used some restraint but I think I may have to throw restraint out the window and go stock up on some more of this line. It isn't often I say that about Gymbo so I am going to run with it before I come to my senses.

Outfit of the day

I can only imagine that there are a mob of you out there that share my hatred of character clothes and probably cringe every time I post Addison in her Hello Kitty junk. Without delving too deeply into her closet I would imagine Kitty monopolizes a good portion of the character stuff.

I first spotted this beauty in the Gap sku's and I must have made my opinions on it pretty known because when it finally appeared on the Gap website someone text messaged me to let me know it was available. I think it was right around the time we were leaving for vacation so I forgot all about it.

Of course I waited too long and it was sold out in the size I needed online and my store never got it in, so as luck would have it the same person that text messaged me in the beginning offered to check her store for it. Obviously you know the rest. Addison is thrilled to say the least.

Head this way for a giveaway

My Pal Allie over at Riley's Fashion Log Blog is having a headband giveaway. Head on over and throw your name in the ring!

Outfit of the BIRTHDAY

Addison's birthday was yesterday and today we had her party so these are a mishmash of the two days.

This was my #1 had to have from Matilda Jane's 435 Art Fair. I think it orginally showed up in a sneak peek picture and I literally gasped when I saw it. I would not sleep until I got my hands on this dress so thankfully it wasn't too hard for me to find as I really like to sleep.

Most of the day today was spent in a leotard since we celebrated Adsy's birthday party at her gym then the rest of the day was spent playing with all her new loot. I realize the bows are probably boardering on the obnoxious side but she's the birthday girl so she can get away with it today.

They won't know what hit them

If you've been reading this blog any length of time you know that Addison will never be a supermodel. She runs from the camera, sticks her tongue out, rolls her eyes into the back of her head, just plain refuses to cooperate so what I'm about to say might have you laughing and questioning my sanity but today is a very exciting day in our house because MY Adsy is off to a casting call for See Kai Run's Spring shoe line.

Yes this Addison......

or maybe this Addison...

ohhhh or maybe this Addison

Yah who knows what today will bring

Let's rock it girlfriend!!! I know you have it in you!

Outfit of the day

Three days in a row. Please save your applause.

More from my long lost frienemy Gymboree. I was apparently shopping for practical, everyday clothes during my last shopping frenzy trip. I picked up a bunch of basic tops and leggings for our day to day comfy stay home days.

This is from Gymbo's Purrfect Autumn. Addison is lurving the stupid cat on this because she's all about the character crap as you know and this satisfy's that need for her I guess.

outfit of the day

I walked into Gymboree the other day and it felt like I was walking in a foriegn country. I really haven't been to Gymbo at all in so long. I used to be in there at least once a week. But sadly over the year I've fallen out of love with Gymboree in a major way.

So I was pretty freaking excited when finally they had a line that peaked my attention. It's no secret that A. I like black and white and B. I love stuff with animal hoods.

Dear Gymboree,
Thanks for reading my blog!
Love,
Bekki

From Gymbo's Holiday Panda.

What is this?? Supermodel backward head turn??

Two days in a row I post. Could it be?? Am I back in the blog saddle. Stay tuned tomorrow for the answer.....

outfit of the day

I wish I had a better picture to return from my impromptu hiatus with. Or at least a picture of her entire head LOL. But it Addison we're talking about here folks so I get one chance and the photoshoot is done.

This is from Naartjie's newest line-Oh lawdy do I hate these naartjie names-ok, this is the Velour dress with fleece skirt (really it's fleece?? I didn't know this until I just looked at the webite) paired with the matchy matchy velvet ribbon and lace trimmed pants.

When I was getting her dressed today I was thinking there is no way I am going to find a shoe that matches this purple monster. Well shooooot, these Morgan & Milo's are PERFECT. I mean PERFECT.

No I did not cut up my credit cards

I'm still here.

Addison has not been going naked everyday. I just needed a little bit of time to breathe. First was the release of MJC Back to School, then came the big daddy release of Gypsy Blue-did you love it???

We did-see pics here

Then we did a BIG trip to Disneyland and next stop is Las Vegas for the big kids. So when I say I've been busy, I mean I'VE BEEN SWAMPED.

I'm just going to throw out some outfits here, you're going to drool and we'll go about our business.

A fantastic friend gave Addison this shirt from Room 7 and I had the capri's from Gap's safari line last year. Honestly I thought she'd get a ton of use out of the capri's but that was not the case at all.

Not sure what Woody is sporting here but Addison has on a Disney Couture shirt and a tutu type thing I picked up from Nordstrom, I am pretty sure it is from Jenna & Jessie, It's a tutu without all the extra fluff crap. Much more doable. Bows from one of my favorite bow makers www.bellalupretties.com

Gap bathing suit that we totally trashed this summer. Not sure how seeing as she has 40 other suits and this one got very little use.

I think I posted this Matilda Jane skirt already but I really love it with the band tank. Good stuff.

Well does that scratch your itch? I'll be back in regular intervals now that things have kinda sorta slowed down here-not to mention fall is in full swing here and there are lots of new outfits coming into rotation.

Outfit of the day

Thank you to Nichole for picking this up for me at 435. I actually thought it was more like a ballerina dress but a ballerina doesn't have an apron right? So I'm not really sure what this would technically be called. It's from Matilda Jane 435-ballerina with the circus apron? Who knows-its really cute and the apples on the top make it even better.

I wish I could remember what shoes these are-well I mean I know they are See Kai Run's but I can't remember the name of them. I literally bought them waaaay before Addison was walking. I got them for super cheap and thought she'd never get to wear them. Well lookie lookie almost 3 years later!

Outfit of the day

It was chillllly yesterday so I resorted to pulling out some of our fall stash. It's still a little big but I'm sure come winter it'll be perfect.

This is the Kitty Print Tunic Dress with the modern stripe leggings. It was the end of the day so her poor hair left a lot to be desired.

Outfit of the day

So I spent exactly 5 minutes standing in front of Addison's closet this morning looking for 'play clothes' My sister had invited us over for some painting fun and I knew from past experience that Addison really like to throw herself into her artwork....literally. She paints her hands, her feet, it's a huge mess. In fact click on the picture to make it bigger-she has paint all over the bottom of her feet. I'm not kidding you about this stuff.

People- I do not own play clothes. I have come to that realization this morning. I suppose that's a good thing. It means I'm not willy nilly buying stuff on my Target runs or picking up clothes wherever but still..ugh.

Now don't get me wrong. I let Addison get dirty! The proof is in this blog. Plenty of pictures show her covered from head to toe in toddler goo. But if I have a little forewarning I'd certainly love to put her in something that I don't mind getting ruined.

When I walked in to my sister's house she didn't even say hello she said something like 'That's painting clothes?' YES this is painting clothes! I think I stuttered and said 'The skirt is from Target' I sorta brushed over the fact that the top is one that I was in search of forever and is a must for any GAP Treehouse lover and I probably would have had a heartattack if she pulled out non-washable paint....but that's our secret ok?

Outfit of the day

I bought this outfit ahead last year because I loved it so much and finally got around to pulling off the tags this bad boy. The summer is dwindling to an end so I'm trying to use up the stuff that hasn't gotten to see the light of day yet.

Is it weird that these are our camping clothes? I just don't buy 'play' clothes anymore. I didn't think a $60 Matilda Jane dress would be appropriate camping attire so I opted for Gap madras instead. Sorry GAP lovers.

Who's kid is this??? I asked her to stop and smile and I literally got 50 pictures of her. Hopefully this is the beginning of a leaf she secretly decided to turn over.

I love this dress. I really really love this dress. I was lucky enough to find it again for this year plus the bows! When I bought these shoes from the See Kai Run sale I knew I was going to pair them with this dress.

So finally I am proud to present the entire outfit! From Janie & Jack's Fiesta Flair line.

I wasn't sure about this dress when I got it. It's not like the typical Matilda Jane dresses we do. It's cute on but honestly I don't love it as much as I love MJC knots and that kind of thing. I gave it a chance though because I love the colors and the look of it.

Outfit of the day

I've been totally consumed with the MJC back to school line launching so by the end of the day the last thing I want to do is more computer.

Today's outfit is one I bought from the Matilda Jane Platinum line and the tank top is the heather tank from MJC. Oh, so are the tights! It's chilly here today so an extra layer was necessary. Turned out pretty cute. Easily this is an outfit I can transition into fall-well with the exception of the tank of course.

Outfit of the day

I really shouldn't be posting this picture for a number of reasons.

This is what happens when it's 8 o'clock and you're doing bath and realize you haven't taken a picture of today's outfit. It's covered in various meals from the day, it is just overall a dirty mess-then move onto Addison general appearance. Rugged. She found a pastel crayon today and proceeded to make herself look like 'a clown' Rosy red cheeks.

Her hair is a hot mess-that's the same pony tail that we left the house with this morning at 10am. It's been through ballet, tap, and nap, not to mention wrestling with brother. Her bow makes me feel off kilter the way it now sits on the side of her head.

But whatever it's a picture right people. And it's Matilda Jane. Well the ruffles anyways and according to the platinum website they are ruffle number PT148 Your child too could look like a grubby mess.

I washed and dried these because I wanted to shrink the heck out of them so they would be super short. Voila. Worked.

Egads I just supersized my picture and DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO ADDISON'S EYES. YIKES!! That's what I get for just grabbing any random camera and shooting.

Outfit of the day

I wasted a wish.

I have this skirt/halter and this skirt Both of them I loved because of the blue and pink fabric on them. I said to myself 'Man I wish Matilda Jane would make a pair of ruffles in that fabric'

Well wouldn't you know it my one chance to have my Matilda Jane wish come true and it's on something as silly as the ruffles. Had I known my wish would be granted by MJC I certainly would have wished for something more beneficial to me like......a skirt called 'Adsy Mai' or getting to design my own dress or even better a purse! So there you have it-my one chance to wish for something big and I get a pair of pants.

Don't get me wrong I loooove the pants (have you not been following) but I sure would have loved an Adsy skirt.

The moral of today's blog post 'Be careful what you wish for'

If you've been wishing for these pants too then by all means hop over to their site because they are still available!! Don't waste your wish like I did! www.matildajaneplatinum.com
